Just Released: New Picture Book from Chicago Author Helps Expecting Moms Teach Kids about Becoming a Big Brother or Sister for the First Time

Dallas, TX, April 25, 2020 – Honeydrop Kids Club announced the release of a new children’s book, written by Chicago native, Stefanie Potts. On My Way: A Love Letter from Your New Baby was written to provide mothers who are expecting with a fun and easy way to introduce the new baby to its sibling, and help children transition into their new role as big brother or sister. Potts, a mom of four and educator who has a passion for Social Emotional Learning wrote the book as a tool to foster relationship and create a bond between siblings, in preparation for the new baby’s arrival.

“We loved the idea of bringing this book to market because it not only creates a sense of excitement for the new addition to the family’s arrival, but it also gives a voice and personality to the unborn baby. It sets a positive expectation, and helps kids understand that they still have a place now that there’s a new baby coming,” said Honeydrop Kids Club publisher, Tracee Jones.

When asked about the motivation for writing the book, Potts replied, “When I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I began searching for books to explain to my son that he was going to be a big brother, and what that would mean. I found great stories but noticed that all of them approached the subject from a negative perspective. The underlying message was that the new baby’s arrival would be a problem or an irritant, instead of something that should be celebrated. Sometimes it’s tough explaining to the child who has been the sole apple for so long that he/she now has to share the spotlight with a new baby. I hope this is a resource that helps with that.”

A graduate of Quincy University, and member of Alpha Omicron Pi – Epsilon Sigma Chapter, Stefanie Potts is also a momblogger and ESL Teacher. She is the founder of Purposely Parenting 365, an online group and blog where young moms swap parenting advice and share tips on ways to keep kids healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You can join the conversation on Facebook @purposelyparenting365. Stefanie lives outside of Chicago in Aurora with her husband, Luke, and their four children. They attend Annunciation Byzantine Catholic Church in Homer Glen, IL.

Tina Valiant, an acclaimed Broker and Real Estate Coach who's renowned for building award-winning sales teams and empowering female Realtors to succeed at their highest level has signed with Coleman Jones Press to release her first book, Finding Your Voice. In this non-fiction book written to help women work through the issues and self-limiting beliefs that hold them back from success in business and relationships, Valiant shares her personal story of struggle --- from being a young housewife and mom in a controlling and domineering marriage where she wasn't allowed to have a voice or make decisions for herself, battling a life-crippling illness, and being voted "Least Likely to Succeed in Sales" to the triumph of finding her voice, and becoming the #1 sales agent ---and the lessons learned along the way. Complete with a section for self-reflection, this book is a must-read for any woman who feels she hasn't found her voice, or is not living to her full potential. Makes a great resource for brokers, managers, team leaders, and coaches who feel as if they've hit a wall getting their female agents unstuck, but are uncomfortable with taking a more personal approach to getting them on the path to reaching peak performance. "What I've discovered in both building successful sales teams and coaching one-on-one," said Valiant, "is that most of the issues in Real Estate Sales performance is not technical or sales related at all. It's personal. It has to do with their personal life and the decisions they've made along the way, so that's where I start in my coaching. I want to help women find their voice; to be all they can possibly be."
